How to Add Wholesale Pricing in WooCommerce (Step by Step)


Do you want to setup wholesale pricing in WooCommerce for bulk purchases and wholesale buyers? By default, WooCommerce only allows you to set normal pricing for a product.

In this article, we will show you how to easily setup WooCommerce wholesale pricing for customers who want to place bulk orders.

Setting up wholesale pricing discounts in WooCommerce

Who Needs to Setup WooCommerce Wholesale Pricing

Online stores that can fulfill large quantity orders may want to set up wholesale pricing for bulk buyers as well as retail prices for other customers.

You can also use the wholesale pricing if you want to offer discounts to dropshipping businesses.

Now the problem is that by default WooCommerce does not allow you to set up different pricing options based on quantity or customer type.

This means your wholesale customers will have to manually place their orders and negotiate discounts. This is not very efficient and will cause delays which would affect their experience in your store.

That being said, let’s take a look at how to easily set up WooCommerce wholesale pricing and allow wholesale customers to quickly place their orders.

Setting up Wholesale Pricing for WooCommerce

For this tutorial, we’ll be using the WooCommerce Wholesale Suite. It is a suite of three plugins that allow you to sell wholesale products on your WooCommerce store.

First thing you need to do is install and activate the Wholesale Prices plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Upon activation, you need to visit Settings » WWS License page to enter your license key. you can find this information under your account on the plugin website.

Next, you need to edit a product in WooCommerce or create a new one.

On the product edit screen, scroll down to the ‘Product Data’ section. From here you can set the retail price for your product like you would normally do.

Below that, you’ll find an option to set the wholesale price for the product and the minimum quantity required to unlock wholesale pricing.

If you want to strictly implement the minimum order quantity for wholesale customers, then you can set the product’s Wholesale Order Quantity Step to 1.

Setting up Quantity Based Wholesale Pricing

Now, let’s suppose you want to offer different pricing for even higher quantity. WooCommerce Wholesale Pricing allows you to do that as well.

On the product edit page, scroll down to the pricing section and check the box next to ‘Enable further wholesale pricing discounts based on quantity purchased’ option.

This will show the quantity based pricing setting. You can select the wholesale customer role and then enter a starting quantity and end quantity. Finally, add pricing for orders falling between those quantities.

Once you’re done, click on the ‘Add Quantity Discount Rule’ button.

Repeat the process if you need to add more rules for quantity based pricing. You can now save your product or publish it.

Viewing Wholesale Product Prices

By default, wholesale product pricing is available to users with the ‘Wholesale Customer’ user role. This means logged in wholesale customers will see the wholesale pricing on the product page.

For testing purposes, you can create a new user account by visiting Users » Add New page and select ‘Wholesale Customer’ as the user role.

After that, you need to log in with the new user account and go to the product you edited earlier. You’ll find the wholesale pricing listed there along with regular pricing.

Setting up Global Discounts for Wholesale Customers

Normally, you would add a wholesale price for each product manually. However, the WooCommerce Wholesale Prices plugin also allows you to set global discounts for wholesale customers.

Simply head over to WooCommerce » Settings page and switch to the Wholesale Prices tab. From here you need to click on the Discount link.

Next, you need to select the wholesale customer role and add a discount value in percentage. Once done, click on the Add Mapping button to save the discount.

This global discount will only be applied to products that don’t have any wholesale pricing set up. Wholesale customers would be able to take advantage of the discount regardless of product quantity.

If you want to offer a global quantity based discount, then you can set it up on the ‘Discount’ page under plugin settings.

Simply select the wholesale customer role and add the start / end quantity with the discount value in percentage.

Next, click on the Add Mapping button to save your discount rule.

Creating Wholesale Customer Roles

Not all wholesale customers are the same. Some may order more often and in higher quantities than others. Wouldn’t it be nice if you can distinguish between existing wholesale customers?

WooCommerce Wholesale Prices allows you to do that by creating wholesale customer roles.

By default, the plugin comes with the Wholesale Customer user role which you can use for all your wholesale customers. To create more roles, go to WooCommerce » Wholesale Roles page.

You can now select the user role on the Global discount settings or on the product pages to offer different pricing options.

How to Setup WooCommerce Conversion Tracking (Step by Step)


Do you want to track conversions on your WooCommerce store? Conversion tracking helps you understand what’s working on your online store and what needs more attention.

It helps you keep track of your best-performing products while also allowing you to see what’s stopping customers from completing a purchase.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to easily setup WooCommerce conversion tracking, step by step.

Setting up conversion tracking on your WooCommerce store

Why Set up WooCommerce Conversion Tracking?

WooCommerce makes it easy to sell anything online. However, once you have set up your WooCommerce store, you would need to learn what works on your website to grow your business.

You will need to learn which products are popular among your users, what they are viewing the most, how many users end up making a purchase, how are they finding your website, and more.

To get all this information, you need to set up conversion tracking on your WooCommerce store. This helps you get access to insights you need to make informed decisions about growing your business.

Conversion tracking helps you unlock key performance indicators including your eCommerce conversion rate, average order value, shopping cart abandonment, cost per acquisition, top referral sources, and more.

Apart from that you also get to learn about:

  • Shopping behavior – It tells you what products users are adding to carts, which products are being abandoned, what pages lead users to a successful purchase, and more.
  • Checkout behavior – Helps you view how users successfully complete a checkout.
  • Product performance – Tells you which products are bringing you most sales.
  • Product list performance – This report allows you to group products and see their performance as a list. This comes in handy when you want to see how different product categories are doing on your store.

That being said, let’s take a look at how to unlock all this useful information by setting up conversion tracking on your store.

Setting up WooCommerce Conversion Tracking

The easiest way to track WooCommerce conversions is by using Google Analytics. It shows you where your visitors are coming from and what they do when they are on your website.

The challenge is that setting up Google Analytics with WooCommerce requires a lot of custom coding, event tracking, etc. The good news is that there are plugins that can make it super easy to setup conversion tracking, and you can do it without writing any code.

For this tutorial, we will be using MonsterInsights. It is the best Google Analytics plugin for WooCommerce, and comes with an eCommerce addon that literally enables all the tracking within few clicks.

Once you have installed Google Analytics using MonsterInsights, you can move on to setting up WooCommerce conversion tracking.

Step 1. Turn on Enhanced Ecommerce Tracking in Google Analytics

First, you need to enable enhanced eCommerce tracking in your Google Analytics account. Go to your Google Analytics dashboard and select your website.

From here, you need to click on the Admin button located at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Next, you need to click on the ‘Ecommerce settings’ option.

After that, you need to turn on ‘Enable eCommerce’ and ‘Enable Enhanced Commerce’ options.

Google Analytics will now turn on the eCommerce reporting feature for your account.

Step 2. Install eCommerce Addon in MonsterInsights

MonsterInsights comes with the eCommerce addon which helps you properly set up WooCommerce conversion tracking in Google Analytics.

First, you need to visit the Insights » Addons page to install and activate the eCommerce addon.

Next, you need to head over to Insights » Settings page and switch to the eCommerce tab. From here, you need to turn on ‘Use Enhanced Ecommerce’ option.

MonsterInsights will automatically detect your eCommerce software. Currently, it supports WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress, and LifterLMS.

That’s all, you have successfully setup WooCommerce conversion tracking on your store.

Viewing WooCommerce Conversion Reports

Now that you have setup conversion tracking on your WooCommerce store, you need to give Google Analytics some time to collect data.

After a while, you would be able to view your eCommerce reports in both MonsterInsights and Google Analytics.

Let’s start with your eCommerce reports in MonsterInsights.

Log in to your WordPress site and go to Insights » Reports page and switch to the eCommerce tab.

At the top, you’ll get your most important conversion metrics including the conversion rate, transactions, revenue, and average order value.

Below that you will see a list of your top products with quantity, sale percentage, and total revenue.

Next, you’ll see your top conversion sources and shopper behavior reports including the number of times products were added and removed from the cart.

That’s not all the data. You can dig down deeper with more advanced reports under your Google Analytics account.

Google Analytics provides even more in-depth reporting for your WooCommerce store.

Simply visit your Google Analytics dashboard and click on Conversions » Ecommerce from the left column.

First, the overview report will provide you important numbers such as revenue, conversion rate, transactions, and average order value.

You can then switch to different reports for more in-depth analysis. For example, shopping behavior report will break down user sessions to add to cart, cart abandonment, and sessions that resulted in the checkout.

Now that you have the data you needed to track your WooCommerce conversions, let’s take a look at how to improve your conversion rates and make more sales.

First, you need to visit the OptinMonster website and sign up for an account.

OptinMonster is a paid service, and you’ll need their ‘Growth’ plan to access the ‘Coupon Wheel Campaigns’ feature.

After that, you need to install and activate the free OptinMonster plugin on your WordPress website. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

The plugin connects your WordPress website to the OptinMonster app. Upon activation, click on the OptinMonster menu from the admin sidebar to connect your account.

Creating a Spin to Win Wheel Campaign

After connecting WordPress to your OptinMonster account, you need to click on the ‘Create New Campaign’ button to create your first spin to win optin.

This will take you to the OptinMonster website.

First, you need to choose Fullscreen as your campaign type.

Next, you need to select a campaign template. You’ll need one of the Wheel templates to create a ‘spin to win’ campaign.

Once you select a campaign, you’ll be asked to provide a name for your template and select a website where you’ll run the campaign.

After that, you will see the OptinMonster campaign builder interface.

From here you can change your campaign design, colors, fonts, etc. You can simply point and click on any item to edit its appearance.

Go ahead and click on the gamified wheel element to see the options to change its colors.

Next, you need to click on the ‘Edit Wheel Sections’ button to edit the values of the coupon wheel sections.

Simply switch to the ‘Display Rules’ tab in the OptinMonster dashboard. From here, you can select different display rulesets for your campaign.

For example, you can use exit intent ruleset to launch the spinner campaign when a user is about to leave your website.

After adding display rules, click on the next step button.

Next, you’ll be asked to select a view. You need to select the Optin view and click on the ‘Next step’ button.

Once you’re done, you’ll see a summary of your display rules. You can now click on the Save button at the top to store your changes.

Now that your spin wheel campaign is almost ready, let’s add it to your website.

First, you need to publish your campaign. From the OptinMonster dashboard, switch to the ‘Publish’ tab and check the toggle next to the ‘Status’ option.

You can now visit your WordPress website and click on the OptinMonster menu item. You should now see a list of campaigns you have created with OptinMonster.

How to Create a WooCommerce Contest to Boost Loyalty and Engagement

Contests are an easy way to get new visitors to your WooCommerce store, increase brand awareness, and keep customers engaged.

They can also help you boost customer loyalty, improve conversions, and increase sales in the long run.

In this article, we’ll show you how to easily create a WooCommerce contest to boost loyalty and engagement.

Creating a contest in WooCommerce

Why Run a WooCommerce Contest?

As an online store, you need to bring new customers to your website. The challenge is that most of these users leave without making a purchase.

Once a user leaves your website, it is hard to bring them back unless you find ways to stay in touch.

Adding contests and giveaways allows you to provide users a fun reason to stay a little longer. They also help you collect email addresses, user responses, and grow your social media following.

All of this ultimately leads to more sales and increased customer loyalty.

That being said, let’s take a look at how to easily create a WooCommerce contest to grow your business.

Creating a WooCommerce Contest Giveaway

For this tutorial, we’ll be using a plugin called RafflePress. It is the best WooCommerce contest / giveaway plugin that allows you to easily run viral contests and giveaway campaigns on your website.

It comes with social actions that help you amplify your reach and find new customers. It also helps you grow your email list, increase social media followers, and boost customer loyalty.

Note: our team built RafflePress to help us grow our online presence. Based on user request, we released it as a plugin for anyone to use.

First, you need to install and activate the RafflePress plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Upon activation, the plugin will add a new menu item labeled ‘RafflePress’ in your WordPress admin sidebar. Clicking on it will take you to the plugin’s settings page.

Add your license key

First, you will need to enter your license key. You can find this information under your account on the RafflePress website.

After entering your license key, you are now ready to create your first WooCommerce contest.

Simply visit RafflePress » Add New page to get started.

This will launch the RafflePress contest builder.

First, you need to provide a name for your new contest campaign. After that, you need to select a template to use as a starting point.

RafflePress comes with several goal-based contest templates to choose from. These templates are designed to help you get the best results for specific goals like growing your email list or social media following.

You can select one that best suits your goals. If you are unsure, then start with the classic template.

Add a Prize to Your WooCommerce Contest

Let’s set a prize or incentive for your WooCommerce contest. You need to click on the pencil icon under the Giveaway Prize Details section to enter the prize title and description.

After that, don’t forget to upload prize image which will be prominently displayed with your contest.

Next, you need to choose the start and end date for your contest. We recommend leaving enough time before the start / end date to ensure that you can promote it properly.

Add Actions Users Need to Perform to Join The Contest

Actions are the tasks you want website visitors to perform in order to join the contest. RafflePress comes with a number of actions designed to help you reach your intended goals.

You need to select actions that help you maximize your reach to new audiences as well as existing customers.

For example, if you run a fast fashion eCommerce store, then you would want to increase your Instagram following.

Let’s start adding actions to the contest.

Simply switch to the ‘Actions’ tab from the left menu, and you’ll see a list of actions.

You can click on an action to add it to your contest. It will appear below the prize description section.

You can then click on the individual action to see action settings in the left column.

Each action comes with some basic settings. You can set a title, the number of entries users will earn for completing it, allow daily entries, or make an action mandatory.

Apart from these settings, you will also see settings related to specific actions.

For instance, if you want users to visit your Instagram profile, then you will need to enter your Instagram profile URL.

You can add as many actions as you like. Adding more options gives your users more ways to participate, and helps you reach more marketing channels.

RafflePress seamlessly integrates with all the best email marketing services, so you can use it to grow your email list.

Bonus Tip: Prioritize channels based on your campaign goals. For instance, if you wanted to grow your email list, then you need to move it up and make it mandatory.

You can simply drag and drop actions to arrange them in the order you want customers to join in.

Once you are done, don’t forget to click on the ‘Save’ button to store your settings.

Next, you would want to change the appearance of your contest widget so that it stands out.

Simply, click on the ‘Design’ section from the left column and then select a layout, font, and button color for your contest widget.

You can also set a background color or image if you want to create landing page for your contest (more on this later in this article).

Once you are satisfied with the design click on the ‘Save’ button to save your progress.

Configure Contest Settings

RafflePress comes with a number of options that give you full control of your contest campaign.

Switch to the ‘Settings’ tab from the left menu and click on the ‘General’ tab. From here you can set basic options for your giveaway including the option to show winners, number of entries, limit signups per IP, and more.

After that, switch to the ‘Giveaway rules’ tab. RafflePress includes a Rules Generator which allows you to easily generate contest rules for your campaign.

After that, switch to the ‘Email Verification’ settings. From here you can turn on email verification, which will only accept entries from users who verify their email address.

Next, click on the ‘Success tracking’ option. If you want to add Google Analytics or other tracking code like Facebook pixel, then this option allows you to add those scripts.

Next, click on the ‘Success Redirect’ tab. From here you can redirect users to any page after they successfully complete all actions. This could be a WooCommerce product page, a landing page, or simply a thank you page.

Finally, you’ll reach the social logins section. From here you can turn on social logins and allow users to join the contest by signing in with their Facebook account.

Once you are done reviewing settings, don’t forget to click on the Save button to store your changes.

Publish and Add Contest to Your WooCommerce Store

Now that your contest is ready, it is time to add it to your WooCommerce store.

RafflePress makes it super easy to add your giveaway anywhere. There are three ways you can do so.

  • You use the RafflePress block to add giveaway in a blog post or a page
  • You can use shortcode to add it anywhere posts, pages, product pages, sidebar widgets
  • You can also create Giveaway landing page

Let’s check out each of these items.

1. Adding Contest Block to Blog Posts / Pages

Simply create a new post or page in WordPress or edit an existing one. On the edit screen, click on the add new block button and then select RafflePress.

You’ll see RafflePress block appear in the editor. From here, you need to click on the drop down menu in the block settings and select the contest giveaway you created earlier.

2. Add Contest Using Shortcode

Shortcodes come in handy when you want to add the contest to a product page, sidebar widget, or with a page builder plugin.

First, you need to edit the contest giveaway and then switch to the ‘Publish’ tab. From here, click on the shortcode option and copy the shortcode you see on the screen.

3. Create a Contest Page in WooCommerce

RafflePress also allows you to give your contest widget its own landing page. You can find the option under the Publish tab while editing your Contest giveaway.

How to Setup WordPress Email Logs (and WooCommerce Email Logs)

Why Set Up Email Logs in WordPress or WooCommerce?

Whether you are running a small business website using WordPress or a WooCommerce store, WordPress automatically sends certain email notifications to your users.

On a typical WordPress website, these emails include password reset emails, new user notification, password change notification, comments, and WordPress update notifications.

For this tutorial, we will be using the WP Mail SMTP plugin. It allows you to send WordPress emails using any SMTP service provider including Gmail, Outlook, SendGrid, Amazon SES, etc.

How WP Mail SMTP works

Step 1. Install and Setup WP Mail SMTP

The first thing you need to do is install and activate the WP Mail SMTP plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Upon activation, you need to visit WP Mail SMTP » Settings page to configure the plugin settings.

First, you’ll need to enter your license key. You can find this information under your account on WP Mail SMTP website.

Simply, copy and paste your license key and then click on the Verify button.

After that, you need to scroll down to select how you would like to send your WordPress emails under the Mailer section.

WP Mail SMTP works with any SMTP service. It comes with easy configuration options for the most popular SMTP service providers like Gmail, Outlook, Sendinblue, Mailgun, Sendgrid, Amazon SES, or Other SMTP services.

Clicking on the mailer will show you instructions to set it up.

The default option is set to PHP mailer. We don’t recommend using that because it is not reliable. Since most WordPress hosting servers are not properly configured for emails, this option will mean that your WordPress emails may never reach users’ inbox or even spam folder.

We recommend using a provider like SendinBlue or Mailgun that’s optimized for best email deliverability.

If you choose Other SMTP as your mailer option, then you’ll need to provide SMTP settings which you can get from your SMTP service providers website.

  • SMTP Host: You smtp host address which usually looks like this smtp.yoursmtpserver.com
  • Encryption: Usually it is either SSL or TLS
  • SMTP Port: Usually it is 465
  • Authentication: Turn on authentication
  • Username: Username provided by your SMTP service usually it is your email address.
  • Password: Password for your SMTP service

After you have entered your mailer credentials, don’t forget to click on the ‘Save Settings’ button to store your settings.

Bonus: It’s important to use a professional business email address to ensure your emails look trustworthy.

Step 2. Enable Email Log Feature

Now that you have set up mailer settings in the WP Mail SMTP plugin. It is time to turn on the email logging feature.

From the plugin’s settings page, switch to the ‘Email Log’ tab and check the box next to ‘Enable log’ option.

The email log option will save general and troubleshooting information about each email message. Including the date and time, subject, email status, email addresses of the sender and recipient, BCC and CC, attachment, etc.

The plugin also allows you to enable complete WordPress email logs. We don’t recommend enabling complete email logs because it would save all contents of the email including private or sensitive information in your WordPress database as plain text.

Don’t forget to click on the ‘Save settings’ button to save your changes.

Step 3. Testing WP Mail SMTP Setup

Now that you have set up the WP Mail SMTP plugin, let’s test it to make sure that everything is working as expected.

WP Mail SMTP makes this step easy. Go to the plugins settings page WP Mail SMTP » Settings page and switch to the ‘Email Test’ tab.

From here, simply enter your email address and click on the ‘Send Email’ button.

The plugin will now send a test email to the address you provided. It will then show you the status of the email delivery on screen.

Step 4. Viewing Your Email Logs in WordPress

You can view your WordPress email logs at any time without leaving the WordPress admin area.

Simply go to WP Mail SMTP » Email Log page. You’ll see the log with a list of entries since you enabled the email log.

To view entry details, take your mouse over it and then click on the ‘View’ link below it. This will open the email log entry with a detailed view.

You can also use the search feature to look for entries by email address, subject & headers, or by content (if you enabled content logging).

You can also delete older entries from your email log. You can use the ‘Delete’ link below any entry to delete a single entry.

You can also select multiple entries and click on the Bulk Actions drop-down menu to select ‘Delete’ and then click on the Apply button.
